Earth Day

by Cari Balbo

To celebrate the occasion, I spent time this morning enjoying this small piece of Earth we get to call home. Thankful for the many previous generations who lived at and watched over this place, grateful to be its current stewards.

It may look serene but it's a cacophony of toad romance in the pond.

Spring, finally!

by Cari Balbo

Although it snowed last week, it is finally spring here in Palermo, Maine. And it is glorious! Robins everywhere you look. Blue skies, warm sun. Snow melting before the eyes. Exactly what we needed.

Previous owners planted tulips and daffodils. While we didn't live here last spring, we were here constantly working on renovations so I know these will all come up bright, cheery yellow. Can't wait!

Sun rising behind our spruce tree. Still a couple months before I can harvest spruce tips.

The cats are loving the sun. Fozzie's practically glowing.
